![]() I'm making it sound more complicated than it is-it really is just a gradient. Instead, we're going to use our color wheel and go from yellow to red to brown. Olli)By : TomppabeatsHi, guys In this tutorial Im going to show you how to use the clip feature in F. Thing is, we're not going to draw just like the picture, because our lighting and our base color is different. In digital painting, way of drawing shadows is the same as anime painting. Music : I want to tell you I love you but I cant (ft. We're going to simulate this-and I'll show a real candle to show what's going on. Firelight is red on the edges, yellow in the middle, and then goes white riiiiight where it's very hot. Thing is, because this is a see through object devoid of color really-what we are drawing is the heat of the light source itself. There's ways to simplify this, too, but even if you just do an overlay layer-the overlay layer won't be as convincing if it's one color, you move across the color wheel, especially with fire light. I think that no matter your art program, when you're painting light gradations, you want to do it in a blocking-in pass, where you define what colors go where-and then a pass where you take a smoothing brush and just smooth that sucker out. So you don't stay on the outside rung, you go into the grays in a smooth transition. When you add light, you want to start at the color of your light source, and move towards the direction of the color you're drawing on, and as you do, you choose colors to gradate moving inwards-inside the color wheel. We start with a candle-and it's unlit (or in this case it's lit by ambient light, just so we can.see what we're working with.) I made it a brownish gray because while the candle is usually off-white, it's in a dim room so we can see the lighting effects. So I have a demo but it's like 2 steps so I'll try and explain with words. Hey From what I know, if the colors are different, you should be able to use the bucket tool to do this - Swap the color to transparent (the little checkered square found by the color wheel/color bar just click on it), swap to the bucket tool, and up in the bar at the top where it says 'expand', turn it up to at least 1. Use Layer Folder to organize multiple layer and to increase work efficiency.Hopefully this isn't too much of a "Draw a circle, now draw the owl" type of explanation but I find it helps to think of what makes up the surface that the light is cast on (light which is, in this case, fire.) In the case of a candle, it's see through-so you aren't drawing so much light reflecting off of things, but drawing it go through things. You can transform holistically by going to "Select" > "Transform" ("Ctrl+T" is Shortcut Key for Windows, and "Command+T" is for Mac Mac)ĭiagram:Transform multiple layers with Layer Folder. ![]() Layer Folder lets you move and transform multiple layers at once. Diagram:Duplicate layers with Layer Folder Move and transform multiple layers with Layer Folder You can easily duplicate all the layers in Layer Folder by selecting Layer Folder and clicking "Duplicate Layer". When you don't need layers in Layer Folder, you can easily collapse. Layer Folder can be open and close by clicking the folder icon n Layer window. You can drag a layer to change the order. Simply drag and drop layers into Layer Folder. Naming the folder appropriately helps you to organize. Diagram:Create Layer Folderĭouble-clicking Layer Folder lets you rename the folder. Diagram:organize with layer folderįireAlpaca will not let you select multiple layers to move and transform at once, but Layer Folder will let you move and transform multiple layers at once.。 How to use Layer FolderĬlicking the folder icon in "Layer Window" will create Layer Folder. You can expand/collapse Layer Folder so that it makes very easy to organize. ![]() Layer Folder lets you sort out multiple layers into several folders. If there are too many layers, it will be hard to organize. When you are getting closer to the completion, you may end up having more than 100 layers.! But most people draw elements separately in multiple layers such as "linework", "fill", "shadow", etc. ![]() If you draw everything in one layer like a traditional painting, you may not need Layer Folder. ![]()
